Please take a look at our full terms and conditions below. By paying a deposit you are accepting the terms which will apply to your order.
The price of your cake will be based upon the size, design, flavours and labour so each cake will be an individual price. Once given, your quote will be non-negotiable. We can work to your budget of course, but any reductions in price will be a result of a reduction on the work involved with creating your wedding cake or occasion cake.
Deposit payments are required to reserve your booking. A celebration cake deposit of £25.00 is required or a wedding cake deposit of £50.00 is required. Deposit for wedding cakes over £500 will be £100
The remaining balance for celebration cakes is to be paid in cash on delivery/collection or 1 weeks in advance if paying by BACS (details available on request)
The remaining balance for Wedding cakes is to be paid 1 month before the wedding day by cash, bacs (details available on request)
An e-mail confirmation will be sent upon any monies received.
Your deposit is non-refundable. Other commissions are being rejected as soon as your deposit is paid.
Failure to complete payment at the due date for your cake may result in your order being cancelled
By making a deposit payment you are accepting the terms and conditions
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable due to loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date.
All cancellations must be written or e-mailed to us at Diviney's Delight's and will be taken from the date the letter/e-mail is received.
Cancellations of celebration cakes within 1 week of the event will mean that your order will have been started and decorations made, so payment in full will be required.
Cancellations of Wedding cakes within 1 month of the event will mean that your order will have been started and other orders turned down, so the payment will not be refunded.
Orders paid in full with 6 weeks notice will receive a partial refund of 50% of the total amount paid. In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, then we will give you as much notice as possible, and discuss the matter with you and try and agree a suitable alternative. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you.
Amendments to the design of your order
We will endeavor to make any changes you request to your design if:
You have given us reasonable notice to carry out the amendments
You have been made aware of any changes to the cost of your order for the amendments and you have agreed the change.
If you are unsure of the design when you book, then this is fine so long as we are aware of this.
Our cakes are handmade which means that slight variations may occur even though every effort is made to recreate to a design as agreed/seen.
We will try to get as accurate colour match if a sample of material/ribbon/picture is supplied. Colour names are very objective, so please supply a sample so we can avoid any last minute panics.
All hired equipment must be returned within 3 days of the celebration date ( unless agreed otherwise ) damage to hired equipment will result in your deposit being non - returnable
In all our cakes we do try NOT to use Non-edible items but with 3D cakes it might be necessary.
The customer is responsible for removing non-edible items before serving. We accept no responsibility for accidents resulting from consumption or mis-use of these items.
Allergies and Dietary requirements
We will do our utmost to cater for special dietary requirements. Please state any special requirements when ordering/enquiring.
Although we take the utmost care when preparing our cakes to adhere to any requests, we do use nuts, gluten and dairy products in our kitchen. We cannot guarantee that the ingredients that we use have not been processed in factory where nuts are present also.
Damage to your order
We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to the cake which has occurred once the cake/s have left our premises. We advise that we always deliver your cake where there is more than one tier. we ac no liability for cakes that have been damaged after they have been delivered to the agreed location, for cakes delivered to venues, a signed delivery note by the person in charge to say that the cake has arrived and that it is in perfect condition. Cakes collected from Divineys Delights will require a signed delivery note by the person collecting the cake, once the cake has left our premises damages after this point are not Diviney's Delights responsibility.
Delivery and Collection
You may choose to have your cake delivered by us. We recommend this for Wedding Cakes. If you collect a Wedding Cake of more than one tier from us, then we always advise to drive VERY CAREFULLY. We cannot accept any responsibility for damage to the cake after it has left our premises.
We can liase with your chosen venue to arrange the best possible time for delivery taking into consideration the time of your ceremony/guests arriving, seasonal temperatures and standing time of the cake. We will always aim to be there at the most suitable and agreed time. We do ask for patience when faced with unexpected traffic delays or extreme weather conditions. If we are made aware of these conditions 2 days before delivery, then we may suggest delivering 1 day before the wedding. The venue would be responsible for storing the cake in a suitable environment to ensure the cake is kept in its best condition and responsible for moving into the cake into the correct position.
It is your responsibility to give the correct address/ postcode, time of ceremony, the room name and any other details which are required to deliver to the correct place at the correct time and day including the name of the appointed person to sign for acceptance of the cake.
Once delivered to the venue, the cake will be checked and signed for by the appointed person and a picture will be taken as proof of set up and delivery.
Our cakes are baked freshly for your event. We would advise that our cakes be eaten within 2 days of your event and refrigerate for those days. Our cakes do not contain artificial preservatives and are very moist, so will show signs of deteriorating after this period.
Cakes can be frozen, except for fruit cake and if you wish to do so then remove the fondant icing, cut into small servings, individually wrap in cling film and place in an air-tight freezer bag or container. Cakes stored in this way will be fine for up to 3 months.
Cakes should be stored away from heat and in a cool dark place, cakes should never be placed in the fridge unless advised to do so, Once cut wrap in foil/ parchment paper to keep it fresh
Fruit cakes can be fed with a little brandy. Wrapped in Wax paper/greaseproof paper, then in foil and in a box (Not airtight). We would advise that these be eaten within 1 year,
A lot of love and time go into producing each and everyone of our cakes, but on the very rare occasion that someone is not satisfied we will treat it very seriously.
If you are not satisfied regarding the appearance then we must be given the opportunity to amend this. We will always be able to amend a small detail on site or at our premises. We will re-deliver if necessary free of charge. If the incorrect detail is down to incorrect information received in any form of communication then we do not offer any free amendments. These will be charged according to the time/mileage involved with this.
If you are not satisfied with the actual cake and wish to make a complaint to us or let us know any concerns after receiving the goods, please do so in writing, Evidence of any faults, damages should be included, Any refunds will be given entirely at our discretion,
We cannot act on any complaint after 2 days.
